Orée
2024
Yuma and Alexandre met as children on a beach in the South of France. Every year since, they’ve returned to the spot, perpetuating and celebrating their friendship. The day takes a different turn when they realize that the world around them is disrupting their sweet annual ritual.
Yuma and Alexandre evolve in a summer landscape, surrounded by nature that envelops them. The sweltering heat and their gentle ennui inspire the creation of a new world, on the edge between full consciousness and unconsciousness.
From the very first shot ofOrée, Alexandre reveals a singularity, the root sign and harbinger of the course this seaside stroll will take. Uncontrollable, movement seeps in and becomes omnipresent. The choreography unfolds from this precise spot, and all the rules of their universe are redefined.
Yuma and Alexandre’s environment, usually serene and peaceful, is transformed into an intimate parenthesis, tapping into our reality to tip over into the dreamlike.
The music, by Youness Aboulakoul, follows the same dramatic curve. Drawing its essence from real-life sound recordings, it gradually slips into the fantasy world of the two protagonists.
