2027 Danse contemporaine
The ground on which, from which, through which we dance.
Our experiences between Kyoto and Quito made one thing clear: our bodies carry “invisibles” that shape our movements. The Ring of Fire, the immense volcanic arc surrounding the Pacific, thus appears to us as a vast underground pattern to be explored alongside geologist Baptiste Lepillier and in collaboration with three dancers from this same geological territory – Alex Cauritongo (Ecuador), Joseph Kraft (California) and Camilo Sarasa Molina (Colombia).
Their encounter opens up a telluric, cultural and choreographic territory where each oscillates between guardian of a heritage and creator of a language. At once vestige and active force, heritage and resource, singular and universal, dance resonates in what persists and transforms, tirelessly, in bodies.
