Le point zéro – ensemble 3

The third short in the Le point zéro series, this film offers a five-part temporal retelling of a single location: the Grand Antique marble quarry. With the support of geologist Baptiste Lepillier, the exploration of the subterranean worlds, and more specifically of the marble formed here in a tectonic rift, becomes both a setting and a material conveying symbolism.

Mining embodies a physical and poetic exploration of the depths, while the black/white contrast of the marble opens up reflections on rites, life and death. The testimony of a former thanatopractor enriches this symbolic dimension, linking mineral matter and human practices. The dancers’ bodies, choreographed like sedimented layers, replay physical and cultural memories, each gesture becoming a stratum of what persists and reinvents itself.
