They move forward, one step at a time, carrying and transporting bodies or objects, using a stick to lean on or to strike, building a shelter with a few scraps of wood. They inhabit times long past, and perhaps those yet to come. On a journey to a distant West, Magali Milian and Romuald Luydlin, who have been creating for fifteen years with their company La Zampa, apply themselves to accomplishing and excavating a few movements down to their first, primary intentions, which then seem to unfold upon themselves. In this physical and inner research, the body becomes the measure of everything, time is built without a project.
Dominique Crébassol, for the Montpellier Danse Festival 2018 program

Credits
Choreography: Magali Milian and Romuald Luydlin
With: Benjamin Chaval, Sophie Lequenne, Romuald Luydlin, Corine Milian, Magali Milian, Manusound, Marc Sens, Anna Vanneau
Music: Benjamin Chaval, Valérie Leroux, Manusound, Marc Sens
Lighting design: Laurent Bénard
Sound manager: Valérie Leroux
Lighting and stage management: Denis Rateau
Costume design: Lucie Patarozzi
Dramaturgy: Marie Reverdy
Outside view: Marion Muzac

Production
Producers: La Zampa
Coproduction: Festival Montpellier Danse 2018, La Place de la Danse/CDCN Toulouse – Occitanie, Charleroi Danse – center chorégraphique de Wallonie-Bruxelles, Théâtre Molière Scène Nationale de Sète et du Bassin de Thau, Théâtre de Nîmes
With the support of : l’Adami and l’Usine Centre National des arts de la rue et de l’espace public Tournefeuille / Toulouse Métropole
Home in residence : Montpellier Danse à l’Agora cité internationale de la danse, L’Odéon-Théâtre de Nîmes, L’Archipel scène nationale de Perpignan, Théâtre Molière Scène Nationale de Sète et du Bassin de Thau, La Place de la Danse/CDCN Toulouse – Occitanie, PALOMA Scène de Musiques Actuelles Nîmes Métropole
La Zampa is subsidized by the Direction Régionale des Affaires Culturelles Occitanie/Pyrénées-Méditerranée, by the Région Occitanie/Pyrénées-Méditerranée and by the Département du Gard.

Far West is a journey, a voyage stretching between a past deliberately left behind and an uncertain future whose outcome we cannot guess.
